Relocating overseas to an unknown country can be life changing either positively or negatively.
Listen to our radio show as Macarena brings an incredible talk with a very amazing woman; Fernanda, who has lived in 23 countries all over the world.
People often have the worst experiences in relocating to other places because they sometimes expect the new place to be the same as the one they are already used to. One of the most amazing things of relocating as Fernanda shares, is that living in different countries allows you to embrace and understand different people in culture, religion and even family. When thinking about relocating, we should be fully aware that every country is different in every aspect and we should be able to live one day at a time.
Living in different places in the world, Fernanda discovered that it enhances your way of living as it allows you to open your eyes to the world and give you human interest connections. It diversifies your global perspective and gives you confidence that you can fit anywhere in the world. One of the key things to remember is to embrace locals. Local communities are always willing to help expats, but as an expat, you need to know how to relate to local communities and how to carry along with them. Local connections are very important in relocating as they are the ones that make your life different, diverse and happier. Most often, expats tend to look at things in the same way, but if you look at a local perspective, then you will be able to understand things better. Therefore Fernanda advises that you should participate in local activities and interact with locals.
Be open to people around you and ask for their opinions. At the end of the day, it will make your life more interesting and fun filled.
